Darleene Peters is Senior Counsel with Kuchler Polk Weiner, LLC. Darleene graduated from Xavier University of LA in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. In 1998, Darleene simultaneously earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Loyola University School of Law and Loyola University College of Business Administration in New Orleans, LA.
In her final year of law school, Darleene decided to sharpen her litigation skills by serving as a Student Practitioner in the Criminal Law Division of the Loyola Law School Clinic, where she represented criminal defendants imprisoned in the Orleans Parish criminal system. She also served as a Moot Court Teaching Assistant where she instructed and advised first-year law students on their oral and written presentation skills. She also served as a Judicial Extern for Judge Ivan L. R. Lemelle at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana (EDLA) during Judge Lemelle's tenure as a Magistrate Judge. Upon the request of Judge Karen Wells Roby, Darleene returned to the EDLA later in her career where she served as a Judicial Law Clerk in an effort to further enhance her oral and written advocacy skills as a practicing Attorney.
Darleene is admitted to the Louisiana State Bar and is also admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana.
Darleene joins Kuchler Polk Weiner LLC with a previous background as a civil defense attorney where she managed complex civil litigation matters involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices, products liability, and premise liability.
Darleene is an active member of the Louisiana and New Orleans Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute ("DRI"), and the National Diversity Council " Louisiana chapter.
She is a native New Orleanian and is involved in a number of community service projects and other civic commitments. She resides in New Orleans, LA with her husband and three teenage children. In her spare time, she enjoys jogging throughout the City of New Orleans and watching her two sons play golf for their high-school golf team, which was revived in 2016 for the first time since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Of course, she has hopes that their younger sister will develop a penchant for golf in the near future.

Darleene is a 2014 Graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) Trial Academy.
Darleene is a 2006 Fellow of the American Bar Association's Tort, Trial & Insurance Practice Section's (TIPS) Trial Academy.
Darleene served as the Moderator for a New Orleans Bar Association panel in 2016. The topic was "Maintaining Longevity in the Legal Profession."
Darleene served as a Speaker/Panelist for a New Orleans Bar Association panel in 2016. The topic was "Professionalism: Do's and Don'ts."
