Victoria Smith is an associate in King & Spalding's Atlanta office and a member of the Tort & Environmental Practice Group. Her practice focuses on defending product manufacturers in the pharmaceutical, automotive, and asbestos industries in nationwide product liability and personal injury litigation. Ms. Smith also provides guidance to corporate clients on e-discovery issues, including review of records management policies and litigation preparedness.

Ms. Smith received her B.A. in political science, concentration in American Government, in 2005 from Yale University. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2010, where she served on the General Board of the Harvard Civil Rights - Civil Liberties Law Review.


Serving as part of the national coordinating and trial counsel team representing GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in nationwide litigation concerning allegations of injuries arising from use of the company's antidepressant. Ms. Smith's experience includes: trial preparation; formulating and executing pre-trial strategy; deposing treating physicians and fact witnesses; briefing dispositive, procedural, and pre-trial motions; and coordinating discovery.

Defending an international automobile manufacturer in complex product liability and personal injury actions involving vehicle rollovers, wheel defect, and crashworthiness claims, including: trial preparation; coordinating discovery; preparing for settlement and mediation proceedings; preparing expert witnesses for deposition and trial; briefing motions for summary judgment and to exclude expert witnesses; and briefing other procedural motions.

Serving as a member of King & Spalding's national coordination team for AstraZeneca overseeing lawsuits involving over 1,200 plaintiffs who allege injury from the ingestion of Crestor®. This litigation involves claims that treatment with Crestor® caused or contributed to the development of diabetes, rhabdomyolosis, renal damage, and cardiovascular injuries.

Representing a high-growth specialty retailer in South Carolina federal personal injury actions involving allegations of burn injuries resulting from the use of firepot and gel fuel products.

Representing international corporations in products matters involving alleged harm as a result of exposure to asbestos.
