Jenipher is a civil movement and human rights attorney and the Managing Attorney of For the People | A People’s Legal Office, LLC. She began her career in the New Orleans office of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) through the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship of Harvard University and the City of New Orleans Office of Independent Police Monitor (OPM).
Her work challenging the system of mass incarceration has resulted in binding affirmative decisions regarding the constitutional rights of prisoners in the United States. Jenipher litigates complex civil cases involving the rights of political prisoners, employment discrimination, and law enforcement and correctional officer misconduct. Her work in litigation and in the community has been recognized by the Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA) and Denver Public Schools (DPS).
As a clinical law professor, Jenipher has instructed law students on the rights of prisoners, movement lawyering, and professional identity formation. She has been published both domestically and internationally and served as Editor-in-Chief of the National Lawyers Guild Law Review.
Jenipher currently serves as co-chair of the Mass Incarceration Committee of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG). She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Federal Advocates (FFA) and has been recognized as one of Denver’s 40 Under 40 young professionals. She is a proud board member of the National Conference of Black Lawyers (NCBL).
In addition, Jenipher has received extended integrative training in contemplative practice and social justice informed by the perennial tradition, earning a certificate from the Center for Action & Contemplation (CAC).
Although Cynthia built her roots and legal career in Colorado, she is proud to now call Atlanta home as the Managing Attorney of Modern Family Law’s Georgia office. Originally from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Cynthia ventured across the country for her education, earning her undergraduate degree from DePaul University in Chicago before attending Creighton University School of Law in Omaha.
After law school, Cynthia returned to Colorado and founded her own firm focusing on family law, juvenile delinquency, and contract disputes in the Denver metro area. In 2017, she expanded her legal experience further by serving as a Deputy District Attorney in Eastern Colorado, where she managed a caseload of more than 400 misdemeanor and felony cases. Most recently, Cynthia worked in Modern Family Law’s Denver office, bringing compassionate advocacy and litigation strength to families navigating complex legal matters.
Now leading our Atlanta office, Cynthia brings her extensive courtroom experience, collaborative problem-solving approach, and dedication to helping families find clarity and stability during emotionally challenging times. Outside the office, Cynthia enjoys baking elaborate cakes, cheering for her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, and spending quality time with her family.

Carine Jean-Claude is Senior Vice President, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, and Secretary for Arrow Electronics, Inc., with responsibility for leading global legal matters including corporate governance, compliance, litigation, and business support at the operational level.
Jean-Claude previously served as Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President, Legal Affairs for Arrow Electronics since 2017. She joined Arrow in 2000 and served in roles of increasing legal and compliance responsibility. Prior to joining Arrow, Ms. Jean-Claude worked for the law firms of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson, and Edwards & Angell in New York City.
Jean-Claude holds a Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in finance from New York University.
