LaJuanda Williams-Griffin

LaJuanda Williams-Griffin is the Owner of the Williams-Griffin Law Group, PLLC, a divorce, mediation, and family law firm with offices in Jackson, MS and Tupelo, MS. She is also the owner of D’Cracked Egg, LLC, a dine-in breakfast and brunch restaurant in downtown Tupelo, MS. Additionally, she is a real estate investor and landlord. She brings these personal and professional experiences while working with and advocating for her clients and customers.

She was born and raised in a small town in Central Mississippi, called Vicksburg. She grew up the middle child of three girls, raised by their then-single mother. She attended public school in the Vicksburg-Warren School District, graduating from Warren Central High School in 1998 with Honors. At the age of 18, she joined the United States Army Reserves as a Human Resources Specialist and was taught how to persevere and the true meaning of discipline and working toward a specific mission. Particularly, she learned there was humiliation in quitting and pride in enduring and succeeding.

During her military career, she obtained a B.S. in Mass Communications from Jackson State University because she had plans to become the next top ranked news anchor! Dispelling that assumption was her graduate school professor when he encouraged her that she should pursue a career as an attorney. Therefore, after she obtained a Master’s in Public Health and Health Policy (M.P.H.), she attended law school at Mississippi College School of Law.

During law school, she clerked for the Honorable Mississippi Supreme Court Justice, Leslie King and was a fellow with the Office of Capital Defense Counsel. She also participated in Mock Trial, was Vice

President of the Black Law Student Association, and was the recipient of a full tuition academic scholarship.

After she graduated law school and passed the bar, she opened her law practice and mainly practiced family law and other civil matters until she received a call in 2014 that resulted in her clerking for two (2) Hinds County Chancellors at the Hinds County Chancery Court. There, she gained invaluable experience in all family and domestic matters as well as other matters of equity, such as wills and estates, land acquisitions, business formation and dissolutions, and administrative appeals.

She is a member of the Mississippi Bar Leadership Class of 2022-2023 and is a nationally published author for the GP Solo publication of the American Bar Association, through which she has written about the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and its impact on matrimonial disputes. Additionally, was recognized and awarded by the Mississippi Business Journal as one of Mississippi’s Top Businesswomen for 2022 and awarded the Elite Lawyer for Mississippi in Divorce and Family Law for 2021 and 2022.

Today, her practice includes all domestic and family matters, to include child custody, divorce, and spousal support. She is also outside counsel for a nationally-recognized and awarded Mississippi nonprofit, Higher Learning Co., where she provides legal advice to the organization, to include, but not limited to: drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts; providing daily guidance to HPC involving highly confidential information; and handling complex legal matters for specific legal functions . Additionally, she is a Court-Certified Mediator to provide her clients with a less combative method to resolving disputes.

LaJuanda is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, American Bar Association, the Academy of Court Appointed Neutrals, the Capital Area Bar Association, and a key investor of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce. She is admitted to practice law in all Mississippi state court and the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Mississippi.
