Avalon L. Paul is a family, removal defense, and business immigration attorney with vast experience assisting clients in all areas of immigration law. Avalon took a more unconventional route as she did not attend law school immediately after graduating from Connecticut College. After undergrad, she spent several years teaching at a junior high school. As an immigrant herself from Trinidad & Tobago, Avalon innately understands the necessity of having effective and efficient counsel assist clients in navigating the complexities of immigration laws.
Avalon began her career working in a boutique immigration firm which specialized in employment-based immigration laws. She founded her firm, Paul & Associates Law, P.C. in 2018.
Avalon represents clients before USCIS, New York Family Court, Federal Immigration Court, and consular processing visa cases. She currently specializes in employment, removal defense, and family-based immigration law, including but not limited to: VAWA, Adjustment of Status, Special Immigrant Juvenile status cases before New York Family Court, Master Calendar Hearings, Individual Merits Hearings, TN, H-1B’s, PERM, and LCA audits. Not afraid of hard-work, Avalon loves those difficult cases which other attorneys shy away from.

Ryan Forbes is an Associate in the Litigation Department, focusing on criminal defense, governmental investigations, and civil rights claims. During his time here, Ryan has investigated and defended felony matters. Ryan has participated in several trials to verdict, drafted and researched related motions and appeals.
Ryan has represented clients under Government investigations by agencies such as the United States Attorney’s Office, State Attorney General’s office, and Homeland Security. He also commits significant time to pro bono matters, including representing non-profit organizations in civil litigation and representing plaintiffs in § 1983 civil rights cases.
While in law school, Ryan served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Richard Rivera, Supervising Family Court Judge, Third Judicial District, Albany County Family Court, and Acting Supreme Court Justice, Third Judicial District. While there, he primarily worked with family offenses and juvenile delinquency cases, as well as Title 9 prisoners’ rights cases. His academic tenure included working with Prisoners Legal Services of New York and The Legal Aid Society, where he drafted motions for conventions against torture and stay of deportation. Ryan has also worked with the Albany County Community Police Review Board to create a disciplinary matrix for police misconduct violations committed by officers.
Ryan earned his J.D. from Albany Law School with a Certificate in Criminal Law with Honors. He was a member of the Albany Law Moot Court Travel Team, where he participated in the Dean Jerome Prince Memorial Evidence Competition and the Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition. He received his undergraduate degree from Towson University where he majored in Philosophy, Law and Politics. During his time at Towson University, Ryan completed an internship with the Public Justice Center of Washington D.C. assisting with tenants’ rights claims. He also served as the Community Outreach Chair for the Black Student Union, overseeing the coordination of over 300 community service hours for the organization. This involved building a community garden and mentoring high school students through the College Readiness Outreach Program.

Ashley Noel Martin is an associate in Traub Lieberman's New York office who focuses her practice on insurance defense litigation. She has particular experience representing clients in premises liability, New York Labor Law and commercial automobile and trucking matters.
A second generation lawyer, Ashley earned her J.D. from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, where she received the Law Diversity Grant. While at Pace, she served as President of the Black Law Students Association. During law school, Ashley was an intern at the Rockland, Westchester, and Bronx District Attorney offices.
Prior to joining Traub Lieberman, Ashley served as an Assistant District Attorney of Bronx County, where she prosecuted misdemeanor crimes involving domestic violence.
