Brittani Gambrell
Brittani Gambrell is an associate in the Intellectual Property Transactions Group based in Schwabe’s Portland office. She has a strong passion for the technology and retail industries, with a primary professional focus on IP. Brittani is committed to helping her clients find creative solutions to complex problems and holds a deep understanding of how to protect her clients’ brands.
Before joining Schwabe, she completed a year-long fellowship program at Nike, where she supported various legal teams including Consumer Marketplace, Sports Marketing, Brand Marketing, Consumer Digital, and IP. Outside of Schwabe, Brittani mentors aspiring and current law students and serves as the Social Action Chair of the Portland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
Experience: Brittani assists clients with IP transactions by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating IP licenses, settlement agreements, independent contractor agreements, software licenses, and NDAs. She performs high-level trademark clearance searches and advises on trademark registration for brands in the consumer, manufacturing, and retail industries. She aids in the prosecution of numerous trademark applications by conducting legal research and drafting office actions in response to trademark refusals.
Brittani also develops compliance strategies for major retail brands to align with evolving advertising and privacy laws. She supports brands with enforcement of trademark rights by investigating trademark infringement and drafting cease-and-desist letters. Her work includes drafting a joint venture agreement for an educational nonprofit and assisting in the creation of application product detail pages by analyzing global legal requirements and advising business clients on applying these requirements to the application’s technical back-end capabilities. She has also updated Terms and Conditions of Sale for a company’s website for Asian Pacific and Latin American countries to ensure policies align with local business realities and legal requirements.
