Cedric is a Georgia native from Augusta and a graduate of Jefferson County High School, where he was active in football, track, and the marching band. He earned his B.S. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Georgia Southern University and his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2022.
At Wake Forest, Cedric served as President of the Black Law Students Association, Co-Coordinator for the Know Your Rights Pro Bono Clinic, and a member of the Trial Bar and AAJ Trial Team. He also volunteered with the Expungements Clinic and was an inaugural member of the Leadership and Character Cohort. He now serves on the Rose Council, Wake Forest Law’s Young Alumni Board.
Cedric’s legal career began with internships at the Charlotte District Attorney’s Office and criminal defense firms in Georgia and North Carolina. He later worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Augusta, GA, and as an Assistant Solicitor in Greenville, SC. Drawing on his experience as a prosecutor, Cedric now practices criminal defense, bringing over a decade of experience in the criminal justice field in the states of Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Licensed in both Georgia and South Carolina, Cedric is passionate about ensuring equal access to justice. Outside of work, he mentors youth, serves his community, and is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He enjoys sports, especially football, and is a proud husband to his wife, Fay, and dog dad to Ace.
Joshua M. W. Salley is an associate in the firm’s Charleston office. Josh is a Husband, Father, and Litigator. He has extensive experience representing clients in complex civil litigation including governmental negligence, civil rights, medical malpractice, products liability, and toxic water/environmental justice. Josh works to innovate by taking his learned life experience and applying it to his client’s legal issues. Josh’s primary goal is to ensure that his client’s receive tailored strategies that fit their unique situation, rather than repeating tired strategies from an old playbook.
Josh received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy, Institutions, and Behaviors with a concentration in United States policy from Rutgers University, and he received his law degree from the Charleston School of Law.
While in law school, Josh served as the President of the Student Bar Association, President of the Environmental Law Society, and was a member of both the Trial Advocacy and Moot Court boards. In 2019, Josh was recognized by the South Carolina Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers and received the Arthur Gasque Howe Trial Advocacy award. Josh is also a member of the Charleston School of Law Forensics Club, recognizing his demonstrated leadership, professionalism, public service and academic commitment. When Josh isn’t working to mitigate risk for his clients, or solving their problems, he can be found on the beach with his wife Bri and their two daughters, Effie and Farrah, or in the garage “hot-rodding” old BMWs.

Alex Reid was born in Gastonia, North Carolina and grew up in Rome, Georgia. The son of a local business owner and an educator, Alex was raised knowing the positive impact that a strong work ethic can have on his professional endeavors.
Alex is a proud alumnus of Hampton University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. He then spent the next 3 years at the Charleston School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate in 2019. While at Charleston Law, Alex was a member of the Black Law Students Association and Entertainment and Sports Law Society. Additionally, he spent all 3 years of his law school career clerking for the Curry Law Firm, where he primarily focused on criminal defense.
As a black man living in a small southern town, he witnessed the racial disparities of the criminal justice system which ignited his interest in law. Alex fostered a desire to affect change by providing equitable legal representation to the underserved communities. To pursue this purpose, Alex served both Colleton and Charleston counties in his capacity as Assistant Public Defender. During his tenure as Assistant Public Defender, he represented clients on a multitude of criminal charges, from the smallest drug possession to the most serious violent crimes. Alex became a lawyer for one simple reason, to help people and passionately fight for their rights.
Alex is barred federally and in the state of South Carolina. He is a member of the National Black Lawyers Top 40 under 40 (SC), Greenville Bar Association, Greenville Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. In his spare time Alex volunteers with the local Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, loves exploring Greenville, and spending time with his family and friends.
Joe joined Morton & Gettys in 2019. His practice with the firm is focused on personal injury and family law. He is licensed to practice in both North Carolina and South Carolina.
Joe represents clients in a variety of family court matters including separation & divorce, child custody & visitation, and child support. Joe also has experience in general civil litigation and is a part of the M&G Personal Injury Group.
A South Carolina native, Joe earned his bachelor’s degree and law degree at the University of South Carolina.
Outside of work, Joe Enjoys spending time with his daughter Jyia, cooking and cheering on his Gamecocks.

Attorney Dessausure is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated from Dreher High School in 1988. While attending Dreher High School, he participated in several athletic and social organizations.
