Romello Early, a 7th grader at Buffalo Creek Academy in Buffalo, New York, has gone viral after he decided to buy new shoes for his classmate and best friend, Melvin, who was being bullied because of his old shoes.
When Romello noticed that Melvin had been bullied because the shoes he was wearing were getting torn, he became so upset. His mother said one day he even called crying from school because of the disappointment in how his friend was treated badly.
“I could tell it was upsetting him. It just put a real bad ache in my stomach to see somebody have to go through that, and to be to be picked on just based off appearance,” Romello told WGRZ.
