In honor of Women's History Month, we're highlighting some of the phenomenal Alabama women who blazed a trail all their own, one of them includes a barrier-breaking attorney, Mahala Ashley Dickerson.
Dickerson was born in rural Montgomery County to parents who instilled the importance of education in her. It was her desire for learning that sent her to Miss White’s school, where she befriended her classmate Rosa Parks.
After graduating high school, she attended Fisk University in Nashville and then received her law degree from Howard School of Law.
