Davis is a Detroit criminal defense attorney and DUI lawyer with nearly ten years of experience in the Michigan legal system.
Prior to his return home to Detroit, Mr. Davis practiced law with the Johnson Law Group in Bloomington, IL. As their lead defense attorney, Davis had full oversight of all investigations, trial planning, motions, discovery, and courtroom appearances. He has extensive experience handling both civil and criminal litigation including reckless homicides, manufacturing and delivery of controlled substances, driving under the influence of alcohol, and landlord tenant disputes.
Additionally, Mr. Davis was the Assistant State's Attorney in Macon County, IL. Here he continued to hone his prosecutorial skills representing the state of Illinois. He conducted both jury and bench trials, negotiated plea agreements, and argued motions. He was employed by The Law Office of Andrea Bonds in Chicago, IL, The Office of the Public Defender, Second Judicial Circuit Court in Tallahassee, FL & the Florida Equal Justice Center (Legal Services Clinic) in Lake Worth, FL.
In 2010, Mr. Davis was featured in the Decatur Herald & Review article: "Maurice Davis Begins Run in Macon County State's Attorney's Office." Mr. Davis both volunteers and supports Lutheran Child & Family Services. He is an active member of Greater New Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church and just welcomed his first child, Maurice Davis Jr.
