
Iman Hart is an Associate in the Lancaster office of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, where she focuses her practice on insurance defense, including construction and premises liability matters, as well as criminal defense with an emphasis on workers’ compensation defense. She is a member of the firm’s nationally recognized Workplace Law Group.
Iman is licensed to practice in South Carolina, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.
She earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Charleston School of Law, where she was a Presidential Honors Scholar. During law school, she served as an Associate Justice for the Internal Moot Court Competition, competed as a member of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Team, and contributed as an editor of the Maritime Bulletin. Iman received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science, with honors, from Kennesaw State University.
Iman began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender with the Ninth Judicial Circuit’s Berkeley County Office, where she managed hundreds of cases and zealously advocated for her clients. Her professional excellence has been recognized by The National Black Lawyers as a Top 40 Under 40 attorney in South Carolina. She was also named one of Charleston Magazine’s 2025 Best & Brightest 35 and Under and received the Star of the Quarter Award from the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division.
In addition to her legal practice, Iman is the Founder and Chairman of Type 1 Diabetes Life, a nonprofit organization dedicated to easing the financial burden of medical supplies for individuals living with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
