Attorney Lisa M. Knox practices marital and family law, focusing on matters such as child custody, child support, divorces, post judgment modifications, same sex family law issues, and paternity actions. She also handles Collaborative Law matters, adoptions including stepparent, traditional, and second parent adoptions, and dependency cases, including interventions. In addition, she is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator.
To each client she represents, Lisa makes a personal commitment to advocate for their unique interests by providing honest evaluations, realistic expectations, open communication, creative solutions, and, most importantly, skilled legal knowledge.
Lisa is a native Floridian, born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She did not take a traditional path to practicing law. Prior to attending law school, she experienced personal challenges involving divorce, child custody, child support, and domestic violence, along with the life changes that follow. She also built a successful career in the corporate world and entrepreneurship before deciding to pursue her true calling in law.
Because of her life experience, Lisa brings a unique and holistic perspective to representing her clients. She carefully analyzes each case by considering both the legal strategy and the long term impact on her clients’ lives. Her approach ensures that each client is positioned for success even after their case concludes. Her goal is to leave every client stronger, more prepared, and more confident in their “new normal.”
Lisa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Tuskegee University and a Master’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology with a focus in Consumer Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She later earned her Juris Doctor from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, where she also received a Litigation Honors Certificate.
She is a member of The Florida Bar, admitted in 2016, as well as the Hillsborough County Bar Association, George Edgecomb Bar Association, Fred G. Minnis Bar Association, and the Ferguson White Inn of Court.
When she is not practicing law, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, mentoring current and future law students, and volunteering in her local community.
