
Emanuel Powell III advises clients facing crucial strategic decisions at both the trial-court and appellate level. He has authored or co-authored briefs in the US Supreme Court, federal courts of appeals, and federal district courts. As a former D.C. Circuit law clerk, Emanuel also helps clients navigate regulatory challenges across a variety of substantive areas.
Before starting at the firm, Emanuel participated in Jenner & Block’s Pro Bono Fellowship as a volunteer attorney with the Trial Division of the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. Emanuel also served as a Skadden Fellow in St. Louis, Missouri in between his federal trial and appellate clerkships, litigating complex civil rights cases concerning police and correctional officer misconduct. In law school, Emanuel defended low-income individuals facing evictions and foreclosures in Massachusetts state courts as a member of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau.
