
Potter Law was created to provide effective and high-quality legal counsel to a diverse group of clients. Attorney Potter focuses his practice on representing individuals, families, businesses, athletes, and entertainers in the sports, music, and film/TV industry. Clients often want close and transparent communication with their lawyer, and Attorney Potter prides himself on being a close legal advisor to his clients in developing practical solutions to ensure the best possible outcome for their legal matters.
While being a former collegiate athlete, Attorney Potter graduated from Miami University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the Farmer School of Business, as well as a second Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health. He obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.
While in law school, Attorney Potter worked as a legal intern for the Business and Legal Affairs department of Black Entertainment Television, for General Electric (a Fortune 50 company), and also for the general counsel of Street Execs Management. After working in-house and in private practice for two nationally recognized firms, Attorney Potter started Potter Law, LLC.
Attorney Potter has represented a variety of clients in the areas of business law, sports and entertainment, wills and trusts, and personal injury. He is an experienced litigator and transactional attorney. He has negotiated millions of dollars worth of settlements on behalf of his clients. For his sports and entertainment clients, he has assisted in negotiating six-figure deals in sports as well as in music and TV/film.
Attorney Potter is passionate about all of his clients and provides aggressive, zealous advocacy to obtain his clients’ full satisfaction. He is a member of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Gate City Bar Association, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
In his free time, he enjoys sports, live music, traveling, and exercising. He is the father of two sons and devotes his life to his family. Attorney Potter prides himself on being personable, compassionate, and relatable to all of his clients.
Committed to helping others and giving back to his community, Attorney Potter serves as a board member of Grove Park Renewal, Inc., a neighborhood nonprofit focused on providing true affordable housing. He is also a member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and served on the Westside Atlanta Charter School Board for four years. He is also a youth football and basketball coach.
