A Message to The National Black Lawyers Top 100 Family

August 2, 2021

In light of the quickly evolving global health crisis created by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), The National Black Lawyers Top 100 and Top 40 Under 40 would like to share our updates and actions as we constantly monitor the COVID-19 outbreak. The health and safety of our members, staff, and families are our highest priority. As a result of the pandemic, we are taking the following actions:

  • Due to the current states of emergency in VA, DC, and NY, we have decided to postpone our upcoming networking receptions at Nordstrom (DC-area) on March 26thand The Capital Grille (NYC) on May 14th. We will update you as we finalize new dates for these events.

  • At our offices, we are diligently following guidelines and best practices from the Centers for Disease Control andPrevention (CDC) to maintain safe, sanitary workspaces and are providing materials and information to help our team stay healthy.

  • We also are making efforts to offer our staff flexible working arrangements, including adjusted work schedules and teleworking.

However, as a national organization with significant technology-based membership benefits, we are excited to remind you about two of our upcoming webinars. On March 31st, Billy Martin, partner at Barnes and Thornburg, will host our March NBL Academy presentation and on April 29th, Eric Cottle, partner at K & L Gates, will launch part-one of our new series titled: A View from the Top: Laying the Groundwork for Professional Success.

The National Black Lawyers will continue to deliver our mission to celebrate African American legal excellence by promoting our attorneys as subject-matter experts, developing a strong national network of top African American attorneys, and facilitating the exchange of timely information to enable our members to maintain their status as leaders. We stand ready to serve you, and hope that our resources and member benefits can be a source of support, inspiration, and solutions for you and your legal practice.

While we do not know exactly what the future may hold, we feel confident that by supporting each other, we will emerge from this challenge stronger than before. Thank you for being a part of The National Black Lawyers family and we wish you and your families continued health and safety.

Standing with you,

The National Black Lawyers
