Job Summary:
McLain & Merritt, a well-established, mid-sized Atlanta, Buckhead law firm, seeks attorneys with 1-8 years experience to join our team in defense of insured and self-insured retailers and other businesses in a fast-paced premises liability and tort defense practice. The attorney would handle premises liability and other tort cases from inception through trial for Fortune 500 clients. We are an equal opportunity employer.
Duties:
- Litigate premises liability and other tort cases from inception through trial in Georgia state and federal courts.
- Pleadings, motion practice, depositions, dispositive motions, pre-trial proceedings, trial, post-trial motions, and appeals.
- Client contact and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar association.
- Proven experience in and knowledge of Georgia premises liability and tort litigation at all stages and through trial.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to draft legal documents effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
