The United States Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, seeks to hire an Attorney-Advisor for its regional office in Sacramento, California. The incumbent will handle a portfolio of both Indian laws pertaining to the Bureau of Indian Affairs and laws pertaining to the National Park Service. These laws include the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, Administrative Procedures Act, National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act, and Freedom of Information Act. The Attorney-Advisor will provide legal counsel and litigation services to the BIA Pacific Region and NPS Regions 8, 9, 10, and 12 on a wide variety of issues involving tribal government, compliance with environmental laws, land use authorization, permitting, realty, contracting, and trespass.
