Rita White owns and manages the Law Office of Rita O. White, PLLC. She specializes in criminal defense, probate, and family law. Prior to launching her own practice, Attorney White served as a Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor for more than nine years, prosecuting criminal cases on a daily basis.
Legal Experience
With over 20 years in practice, White has litigated hundreds of criminal and civil cases involving homicides, child welfare matters, juvenile cases, divorce, robberies, drug trafficking, child support, and financial crimes.
Education
White graduated from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor with a degree in biopsychology. During her time there, she was a high-ranking member of the University of Michigan Women’s Track & Field team. She earned her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School.
Professional Leadership & Bar Involvement
Attorney White is a member of several professional organizations. She is the past president of the Vanzetti Hamilton Bar Association and the past president of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Michigan. She has also served as Regional Representative for the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, Washtenaw Region.

White is a Fellow of the Detroit Bar Association. She serves as a member of the Representative Assembly for the State Bar of Michigan, a member of the Character and Fitness Panel for the State Bar of Michigan, and the Vice President of the Juvenile Trial Lawyers Association of Michigan.
