Darleene Peters is a proud native of New Orleans! She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Xavier University of LA. After working for a few years, Darleene continued her education at Loyola University in New Orleans, where, in three years, she simultaneously earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from the Colleges of Law and Business Administration.
Darleene is the first African American female Partner at Irwin Fritchie Urquhart Moore & Daniels, and serves as Chairperson of the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee. At Irwin Fritchie, Darleene is an invaluable member of the Products Liability Team where she represents pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in Louisiana and throughout the country, in federal and state court, as well as in numerous multi-district litigation (MDL) matters. Darleene is also an active member of the Railroad Litigation Team where she handles matters that involve the defense of derailments, grade-crossing accidents, personal injury and wrongful death actions, and trespasser claims. She also defends corporate clients in environmental and occupational disease hazards cases involving asbestos exposure, as well as personal injury and property damages claims for business premises.
During her tenure with the firm, Darleene also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for Magistrate Judge Karen Wells Roby at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Darleene is also double certified in Health and Wellness Coaching and Nutrition Coaching. She is the Founder and CEO of Deep Wellness NOLA, her own holistic health and wellness coaching company, where she focuses on serving as a resource for addressing qualify of life issues using a holistic approach. Darleene has a special interest and passion for addressing the challenges facing the legal profession. She serves a Wellness Contributor, Speaker, and Writer for various legal associations and organizations and is committed to improving the Health and Well-Being of her fellow legal professionals.
