Darryl E. Robinson began his career path with a pivotal choice: pursue a PhD in finance or earn a law degree. His passion for both disciplines ultimately led him to the legal profession, where he has built a career dedicated to upholding justice and advocating for Hyde Park legal clients, families, and Chicago, IL businesses.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy, followed by a Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago. His diverse academic background uniquely positions him to handle complex legal and business matters.
Mr. Robinson’s practice focuses on Section 1983 civil rights litigation, personal injury, criminal defense, and business litigation. Over the years, he has been involved in several high-profile police brutality cases involving false arrest, bodily injury, wrongful death, and sexual assault. In many of these cases, officers were criminally charged, with all but one either pleading guilty or being convicted and sentenced to prison terms of up to 20 years.
He is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Prior to founding Darryl E. Robinson & Associates, he was a partner at the law firm Robinson, London & Best. Before entering private practice, he held several professional roles, including product engineer at Ford Motor Company and Chrysler Corporation. He also served as a legal intern in the Products Liability Division at Ford Motor Company, the Torts Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, and with the personal injury law firm Susan E. Loggans & Associates.
Throughout his career, Attorney Robinson has remained committed to service and mentorship. Early in his legal journey, he recognized the limited representation of African American attorneys in the field and sought to become a bridge for others. He mentors young attorneys and advocates for initiatives that promote community growth and empowerment.
Attorney Robinson is nationally recognized and a proud member of several organizations, including the National Bar Association, Cook County Bar Association, The National Top 100 Black Lawyers, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.®, and the Prairie District Neighborhood Alliance.
When he is not practicing law or volunteering in the community, Attorney Robinson enjoys spending time with his family and participating in recreational activities such as running and biking.
