Mr. Cottle is a seasoned trial attorney and litigation partner in the Firm’s New York and Pittsburgh offices. Mr. Cottle has extensive jury and bench trial experience involving environmental and toxic tort claims, wrongful death claims involving catastrophic personal injuries and economic loss, and claims involving personal injuries due to claimed product design defects. His principal areas of practice focus on a wide range of commercial and consumer products litigation, including mass tort claims arising from alleged exposures to hazards from industrial machinery and equipment or exposures involving industrial premises. His clients include global manufacturers and suppliers of industrial machinery and consumer products, electrical equipment manufacturers and industrial premises owners.
Mr. Cottle often serves as a strategic advisor to clients facing mass tort and catastrophic personal injury and economic loss claims that are pending in jurisdictions throughout the United States. Mr. Cottle has significant experience developing and implementing strategic, company-tailored and cost effective processes, with the goal of mitigating and reducing the risk of trial. As lead trial counsel, Mr. Cottle has successfully tried over 13 significant mass tort and products liability claims to verdict over the course of his legal career.
