
James is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP and a member of the Structured Finance group. He represents a range of market participants, including sponsors, issuers, and underwriters, in public and private offerings of commercial mortgage backed securities.
Prior to and during law school, James worked in the secondary market as a Performance Manager in the Credit Risk Management division at Freddie Mac. In that role, he managed the performance of billions of dollars in mortgage backed securities assets.
He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
James earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2019. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in Corporate Finance from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from Walden University.
While in law school, he served as Senior Online Articles Editor for the American Criminal Law Review from 2017 to 2018. His honors include induction into Delta Mu Delta Honor Society in 2015 and Golden Key International Honour Society in 2014. He was also recognized as an Accredited Mortgage Professional by the Mortgage Bankers Association in 2014.
James is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Maryland Bar Association, the Bar Association of Montgomery County, Maryland, and the American Bar Association.
