
A graduate of Howard University, Boston College, and Emory Law School, Karen Brown-Williams began her legal career as a clerk to Justice Carol Hunstein. After more than two years in that role, she went on to serve as a public defender for DeKalb County and later joined the Atlanta Solicitor’s Office. She founded her own practice while serving as a Cobb County magistrate judge, a position she held for five years. Today, Karen brings broad experience and a deep understanding of family law to every client she represents.
Karen has presented to the State Bar of Georgia, the Family Law Institute, the Cobb County Bar Association’s Family Law Section, John Marshall Law School, and the Charles Weltner Inn of Court. She served on the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia for more than a decade. Her work has earned recognition across the state, including being named one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Georgia by the National Black Lawyer Association and being consistently rated by Super Lawyers for her work in metro Atlanta.
A frequent speaker on family law issues, Karen helps guide attorneys throughout Georgia toward becoming more effective and knowledgeable in this critical practice area.
