
Miatrai Brown began her legal career in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, focusing exclusively on immigration and nationality law. She has represented large U.S. corporations, financial institutions, and startups across a variety of industries, including technology, film, healthcare, aviation, marketing, and security.
After years at leading immigration firms, Ms. Brown founded Direct U.S. Immigration to provide high-level immigration support with the personalized attention of a boutique practice. Her experience includes employment-, investment-, and family-based immigration, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Recognized for her work, Ms. Brown has received multiple honors, including Northern Virginia’s Top 40 Under 40, National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, Emerging Women Leaders in Law, and several pro bono awards. She also teaches continuing legal education and provides expert commentary to legal publications, including Bloomberg Law and Law360.
Ms. Brown earned her bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a Business concentration from Virginia Tech and her law degree from American University Washington College of Law. She is admitted to the New York and D.C. bars and practices federal immigration law nationwide. In her free time, she enjoys mentoring young leaders and traveling.
