Michelle Domingue is a member of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLLP's Insurance Recovery & Advisory team, where he advises corporate policyholders on complex insurance recovery and coverage disputes. His practice focuses on high-stakes matters involving environmental liabilities, product-related claims, and mass tort exposures.
Prior to joining the firm, Michelle served as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he litigated environmental tort matters in federal court. He also previously practiced at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP in Houston, representing clients in products liability, mass tort and fiduciary litigation, as well as complex commercial disputes arising from catastrophic injuries and industrial incidents.
Michelle has extensive experience handling large-scale, high-impact cases, including litigating Federal Tort Claims Act suits involving water contamination and toxic substance exposure, such as PFAS, with damages claims totaling billions of dollars. He has also advised federal agencies on administrative claims related to personal injuries and property damage stemming from hazardous materials exposure following major incidents, including train derailments. Additionally, he has represented multinational energy clients in long-tail liability matters across multiple jurisdictions, including California, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
His professional achievements include membership in The Order of Barristers, serving as a D.C. Bar Delegate (Under 36) to the American Bar Association House of Delegates, and receiving the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Oil & Gas Law.
Michelle earned his J.D. from Tulane University Law School in 2022, an M.A. from Tulane University in 2019, and an A.B. from Dartmouth College in 2012.
