Attorney Kusimo-Frazier started her career as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Kanawha County and Jackson County, West Virginia where she distinguished herself by winning almost of the cases she took to trial. Attorney Kusimo-Frazier then entered private practice, working with a Charleston Law firm, successfully representing numerous individuals in criminal defense matters in municipal, state, and federal court.
After practicing with a firm for a number of years, Attorney Kusimo-Frazier transitioned to work for the Supreme Court of Appeals, where for four years she worked as a Deputy Counsel, reviewing appeals filed before the Court, writing memos summarizing those appeals, and presenting her memos to the Supreme Court Justices. Attorney Kusimo-Frazier was ultimately promoted to the position of Director of Magistrate Services, where she supervised the operations of the fifty-five county-wide magistrate court system for the State of West Virginia, advising magistrates, circuit judges, and the Supreme Court Justices; and implemented legislation state-wide.
In 2022, Attorney Kusimo-Frazier transitioned back into private practice as Of Counsel at a national law firm headquartered in Charleston, West Virginia. In 2023, Ms. Kusimo-Frazier was named a fellow to the inaugural class of the Johnson & Johnson Trial Pathways Fellowship Program. Her practice focused on product liability defense, criminal defense and civil rights law.
In 2022, Attorney Kusimo-Frazier was granted the distinction of becoming a West Virginia Bar Foundation Fellow. She is currently a member of the Board of the West Virginia Bar Foundation. In 2023, Attorney Kusimo-Frazier received a Civil Rights Champion award from the West Virginia Human Rights Commission. Attorney Kusimo-Frazier was also named the 2024 Woman-to Watch by the Charleston-West Virginia YWCA Woman of Achievement Awards.
Attorney Kusimo-Frazier serves as a Commissioner for the West Virginia Juvenile Justice Commission. She is
a member of the Charleston-Institute (WV) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Omicron Omega Chapter.
She is a proud graduate of The Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), magna cum laude, and is a lifetime member of the FAMU Alumni Association. Attorney Kusimo-Frazier received her Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee School of Law, in Lexington, Virginia.
