Mr. Jenkins obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978 from Mercer University, Macon, Georgia, and a Juris Doctorate Degree in 1981 from the Joseph H. Lumpkin School of Law of the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia. While in law school, he was a member of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and served as Managing Editor of the Journal. He was also a scholar in the European Economic Community Fellowship Program.
Mr. Jenkins is a trained arbitrator and mediator. He has also served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Georgia Indemnification Commission and the Georgia Department of Medical Assistance. He is admitted to practice before all Georgia state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia.
Mr. Jenkins has over thirty-five years of professional experience, including experience as an administrative law judge, an arbitrator, and a mediator. He concentrates in probate matters and business law, including business formations, contract review and drafting, and litigation of contractual issues. He also handles professional licensing and disciplinary matters, guardianship issues, personal injury cases, and premises liability cases.
Bar Associations and Civic Groups
Mr. Jenkins is a former trustee of the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia, and formerly served as treasurer of the Lawyers Foundation and Chair of the Oversight Fundraising Committee for the BASICS program. He served on the Committee on the Organization of the State Bar, the Lawyer Advertising Task Force, the Committee on Aging Lawyers, and the BASICS Committee. He is a past member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia, and a past member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Georgia College & State University, where he served on the Finance Committee. Among other activities, Mr. Jenkins is a current member of the board of directors of the Atlanta Legal Aid Society and a past president of the Society. He is also a member of the Atlanta Bar Association and the Gate City Bar Association.
