Miami, FL— On January 17, 2024, at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, NBL members joined together for the Second Annual NBL Hall of Fame. This year, we proudly inducted into the Hall of Fame the incomparable Wade J. Henderson, Bryan Stevenson, and Christina Swarns, who was introduced by our 2023 Hall of Fame inductee, Elaine R. Jones! The four-course seated dinner was a moving, inspiring and tear-jerking event that touched the hearts and souls of everyone in the room. We look forward to celebrating and inducting many more trailblazers into The National Black Lawyers Hall of Fame and hope you can join us in spreading the word of these incredible lawyers! We also celebrated the tireless advocacy of our 2023 President, Sandra Robinson, and welcomed our 2024 President, Benjamin Wilson! Their leadership and commitment to The NBL have been critical in advancing our mission and impact and we are thankful for their guidance.
Benjamin Wilson, a Dartmouth College and Harvard Law alumnus from Jackson, Mississippi, began his career at King & Spalding and then excelled in the U.S. Department of Justice. In 1986, he joined Beveridge and Diamond (B&D), and became a key figure in environmental law and in promoting attorney diversity. With a 35-year career at B&D, Ben led in high-profile environmental cases, including roles in the Duke Energy and Volkswagen AG cases. He is recognized for founding the Diverse Partners Network and the African American General Counsel and Managing Partner Networks and for his leadership roles, including Chair of the Environmental Law Institute.
The NBL is thrilled and proud to have Mr. Ben Wilson as our 2024 President and can’t wait to utilize his wealth of knowledge to benefit The NBL!
