Civil Litigation Attorney (mid-level)

Our Cherry Hill, NJ office has an immediate need for a mid-level associate attorney interested in growing their career among our more than 275 attorneys in 22 offices who value client relationships and foster open and honest communication with integrity and professionalism.

Litchfield Cavo seeks a well-rounded, highly-motivated, experienced mid-level associate attorney and an eagerness to grow and advance their career  to join our growing commercial defense litigation practice. Must be licensed to practice in New Jersey courts. Additional Pennsylvania or other state admissions preferred. This is an exceptional opportunity to handle a variety of matters for nationwide clients with a forward-thinking firm in one or more of the following areas: employment law, professional malpractice, complex commercial liability, trucking/auto litigation and general liability.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with the following:

· proactively work independently and as part of a team;

· demonstrate strong legal research, problem solving and analytical skills;

· excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to negotiate;

· strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills;

· ability to move from case to case;

· knowledge of both state and federal court procedures; and

· proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and navigating the internet.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include handling a substantial caseload involving insurance related employment law, executive professional malpractice, complex commercial liability, trucking/auto litigation and general liability. The following are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to do this job successfully under the direction of a partner:

· draft, prepare and handle pleadings, motions, orders and legal memoranda;

· draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions;

· conduct legal research competently and with proficiency;

· prepare and take depositions of parties and experts;

· review client documents, draft case evaluations and status report correspondence;

· assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances; and,

· interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues and staff.
