Husch Blackwell, a national
law firm, has an immediate opening in its Houston
office for a Public Law Associate
with a minimum of four years of experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with governmental
entities and all phases of public law litigation (such as condemnation and
Civil Rights Litigation) including, but not limited to, experience conducting special
commissioners hearings, investigations and discovery, preparing pleadings,
taking depositions, participating in mediation, and communication with clients.
Experience in both state and federal
court is preferred. The candidate will
work primarily with attorneys in our Texas public law practice.
The candidate must have an excellent academic record, superb writing
skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a team,
superior judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the
ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action. Federal judicial clerkship experience is
preferred. Candidates must have a Texas
bar license or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible.
