The City of Fort Collins’ City Attorney Office has an opening for
a newly created full-time Prosecution Attorney position. This position will be
a new addition to the City’s prosecution team, prosecuting violations of the
City’s ordinances including traffic laws, criminal laws, building codes, and
nuisance and zoning enforcement. Additional assignments will likely include
liquor or marijuana licensing enforcement, advising Fort Collins Police and
Code Enforcement officers, and special projects. We will select a top candidate
from applicants who fulfill either Assistant City Attorney I or Assistant City
Attorney II qualifications. Please read further for
education and experience requirements for both classifications.

 What is required?

Juris Doctor from
an accredited law school; legal work with an emphasis on criminal law

Attorney I:

Minimum 1-2
years’ experience as a practicing attorney or comparable legal work

Attorney II:

Minimum 5 years’
experience as a practicing attorney or comparable legal work
