As a child, my parents emphasized the importance of education and academic achievement. When I decided I wanted to become an attorney, my parents were my biggest champions. All these years later, my parents continue to inspire my work ethic and ambition. My drive to honor my family is my motivation in providing my clients with the best possible representation.

Kerry Ann Cummings has more than a decade of experience representing financial institutions in litigation matters involving mortgage foreclosures, creditors’ rights, real estate, and title issues.

Kerry has hands-on knowledge of every facet of litigation, from initial case assessment and strategy development through to negotiating a settlement and/or taking a case to trial. She has taken and defended dozens of depositions, drafted numerous motions, and negotiated hundreds of settlements. She approaches each case as an individual situation and strives to take a business-oriented approach to her work, seeking to resolve matters as quickly as possible when appropriate, and at the lowest cost to her client in funds, time, and attention.

Whatever the matter and whoever the client, Kerry approaches her work with attention to detail and the intention of always going above and beyond, regardless of whether it’s an internal or external client. She is a tireless researcher and skilled at finding the fact or legal issue that will carry the day in a dispute from among a complex matrix of information.

She is also a particularly skillful oral advocate, articulate and effective, remarkably effective at connecting with judges during hearings or arguments. She can be aggressive or accommodating, as the situation requires, and almost always knows what issues judges will find significant. She is also very skilled at reading a judge’s nonverbal reaction to an argument, and modifying her tone in order to get the point she’s making across by closely observing facial expressions, body language and other important clues. She excels at thinking on her feet.

Effectively practicing trial law is usually a process of developing skill and judgment at several different disciplines: writing, research, strategy, oral advocacy and more. Kerry is an attorney with a complete toolkit – versatile, experienced, and professional, her clients rely on her ability to address and resolve a wide variety of situations.
