Donald R. Williams, Jr. is the founder and principal attorney of Reed Williams, A Professional Law Corporation. Donald has experience representing clients in all aspects of employment litigation. He regularly handles claims involving allegations of workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, unpaid overtime and wages, missed meals and rest periods, and class actions. Additionally, Donald provides advice and counsel to employers on compliance and litigation avoidance strategies.

As a Visiting Law Professor at University of California-Davis School of Law, Donald teaches electronic discovery and digital evidence to law students. He designed and developed a one-semester course, “Electronic Discovery and Digital Evidence”, to provide students with the procedural and practical knowledge and skills needed to be successful in modern litigation.

Donald has also prosecuted hundreds of demanding private and public sector employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violation cases.

In 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, Donald was named a recipient of The National Black Lawyers’ “Top 40 Under 40” Award for the state of California. The award recognizes the nation’s top lawyers under the age of 40 who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, including legal prowess, leadership, and community involvement. Additionally, Donald was selected to Super Lawyer’s Northern California Rising Stars list in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, an honor reserved for those lawyers who exhibit excellence in practice, and only 2.5% of attorneys in Northern California receive this distinction. Donald was also selected for inclusion in the 2024 and 2025 editions of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America.

Donald received his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science from Grambling State University, a historically black university in Louisiana.

Donald is admitted to practice law in all California state courts, the United States Court of Appeals of the Ninth Circuit, and the following U.S. District Courts: Eastern District of California, Northern District of California, and Central District of California. Donald is also admitted to practice law in all Louisiana state courts.
