Veronica Jackson’s practice blends employment law with cybersecurity and privacy. She defends employers in a broad range of litigation matters and advises on all aspects of employer-employee relations. She also counsels clients through data breach and cybersecurity incident responses.
Veronica has litigated a wide range of employment disputes, including discrimination and sexual harassment claims, leave issues, retaliation and wrongful discharge. She has represented employers in both state and federal courts, in numerous jurisdictions, and at all stages of litigation, including early motion practice and discovery, trial, and appellate work.
In addition to employment litigation, Veronica serves as a trusted advisor to her clients on all aspects of employment law, including non-compete agreements, counseling them on leave and performance and discipline issues, OSHA compliance, drafting workplace policies, and performing training for employees and senior managers. She has extensive experience conducting internal investigations for clients regarding allegations of workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation under Title VII and ADA, and incidents of alleged workplace violence.
Veronica also practices in the area of data privacy and security. She counsels clients through data breach and cyber incident response, including any necessary data breach notification requirements. She also provides legal advice regarding preventive efforts and legal compliance related to privacy and data security, including under laws such as GDPR, FERPA and CCPA. Veronica is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Veronica also chairs the firm’s Miles Minority Network and serves on our Recruiting Committee. In 2019, she was honored on The Daily Record’s VIP List, which recognizes the success of Maryland professionals 40 years of age and younger.
