Assists the City Solicitor in all duties set forth in the Cambridge Municipal
Code, Chapter 2.26, §§2.26.020 through 2.26.040. Performs a variety of complex, high level
administrative, technical, and professional municipal legal work. Along with the
City Solicitor and Deputy City Solicitor supervises the Department’s Assistant City
Solicitors engaged in active litigation and time-sensitive non-litigation work.
Prosecutes and defends civil litigation in state and federal court proceedings
and administrative proceedings. Provides legal advice to the City Manager,
Deputy City Manager and department heads and advisory opinions and training to
City officials, boards, and commissions.
JD degree from an accredited law school, a member of the
Massachusetts Bar admitted to practice before state and federal courts and five
to seven years’ experience practicing law.
Substantial experience in civil litigation required; significant experience
in municipal law, employment, zoning, real estate, construction, contracts,
personal injury, civil rights and/or environmental law preferred. $132,029 - $148,189
