Husch Blackwell, a national law firm, has an immediate
opening for an Export Controls & Sanctions Associate with two to five years of experience. We
will consider candidates in any markets where we have physical offices.
The ideal candidate will
have experience with an emphasis in US export controls, trade and economic
sanctions issues, and antiboycott controls.
Candidates who also have experience in import and customs issues, including
tariff classification, valuation, marking, preference claims as well as
international trade remedies (e.g., antidumping and countervailing duty
investigations) will be considered. Prior experience advising US and non-US
companies on licensing, enforcement actions, internal investigations and
compliance audits, disclosures,
classification, encryption, compliance due diligence in mergers and
acquisitions and other cross-border transactions, and on the design,
implementation, and administration of compliance programs is preferred.
The candidate must have a strong academic
record, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a team,
superior judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the
ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action. Candidates should
have an active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which
they are applying or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible.

Pursuant to Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act,
the compensation range for this position in Denver only is $205,000 to $230,000,
commensurate with qualifications and experience. Associates are eligible for an
Associate Performance Bonus and Client Development Bonus. In addition,
employees receive a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental,
and vision.
