What will be your duties and responsibilities?
• Communicating with insurance companies and medical providers to obtain records and update information on cases
• Interviewing clients to understand their case’s details, identifying issues, and determining a strategy for settlement or trial
• Drafting legal documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, and settlement offers
• Negotiating settlements with the other party’s attorney on behalf of clients
• Preparing cases for trial by interviewing witnesses, acquiring evidence such as medical records, and conducting investigations
• Helping clients prepare for mediation sessions or settlement conferences with opposing counsel
• Educating clients about their legal rights and responsibilities throughout the process
• Preparing and filing court documents such as complaints or motions
• Representing clients in court proceedings such as trials or hearings regarding personal injury cases
What skills you’ll need to be successful?
• J.D. with 3 plus years of legal experience in "Soft Tissue" or "Wrongful Death" pre-litigation and litigation experience.
• Highly accomplished academic and employment credentials
• Results oriented, self-starter, with a high level of initiative
• Exceptional analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent writing, drafting, and oral advocacy skills
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must manage highly confidential information with professionalism and integrity
• Ability to work with a team and drive high volumes of case movement
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite of Applications (with emphasis on Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to manage CRM software for case movement
