Angela May is 2005 graduate of Hampton University and is currently a labor and employment attorney who has primarily represented Plaintiffs in labor and employment disputes including Title VII and wage and hour claims. Ms. May also has experience in personal injury, criminal defense, family law, and worker’s compensation. Not only has she tried cases to verdict but has presented oral argument to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

 In her current role, Ms. May is Sr. Counsel, labor and employment for Sky Chefs, Inc. where she is responsible for all labor and employment disputes for the company in North America.  In this role, Ms. May ensures that the company complies all federal, state and local laws in each jurisdiction that the Company operates as well as any airport specific laws that may impact the Company’s operations. She also works closely with outside counsel handling any employment law discrimination, wage and hour, and wrongful termination claims and lawsuits and has been instrumental in resolving lawsuits against the company or having claims against the company be dismissed. Ms. May also advises the labor relations team on issues with the Union and is currently part of the team that is negotiating a new union contract.  In addition to her experience as a labor and employment attorney, Ms. May has handled a wide range of trial experience in numerous areas of the law including criminal defense, family law, contract disputes, and civil litigation including personal injury.

A graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law, Ms. May has clerked for the Public Defender’s Office and spent a semester as an intern in Wal-Mart’s legal department. She also taught a negotiations course to law students in Minsk, Belarus and Kyiv, Ukraine as a teacher’s assistant.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. May worked as an accountant for a telecommunications company in New York City and has also worked for an airline and a financial institution. In her free time, Ms. May loves to travel, read, workout, and spend time her family. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Ms. May has given countless hours to her community through pro bono legal work and through seminars so that people know their rights.
