DeAndrea Petty, is an attorney who has had a passion to help others since a youth. At a very young age she decided she would become an attorney. Ms. Petty received her Bachelor’s Degree from Baylor University, Waco, Texas in 2013. During her time at Baylor, Ms. Petty interned as a policy analyst at the Texas State Capitol, under the Texas Legislative Internship Program under Senator Rodney Ellis, D-Houston, TX. As a policy analyst in the office of former Representative Lon Burnam, D-Fort Worth, TX, Ms. Petty read and analyzed each criminal bill that went through the Criminal Jurisprudence committee. Ms. Petty also worked at Texas Appleseed in Austin, Texas, where she researched laws that focused on the school to prison pipeline as well as attended special session hearings at the Capitol.

Ms. Petty received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law, Houston, Texas in 2016. During her time in law school Ms. Petty interned at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office as well as The Charles Brown Law Firm. At the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Petty conducted Restitution, Injury and Punishment (RIP) calls, which entailed of calling complainants and witnesses of juvenile delinquent conduct as well as overseeing the court docket for the 315th court. At the Charles Brown Law Firm, Ms. Petty drafted legal memorandums dealing with family and criminal law as well as motions for divorces, transfer of venues and withdraw of counsel.
