Ebonee Johnson is an experienced corporate attorney and consultant within the private equity and asset management industry. She specializes in advising investment advisers, private equity funds, real estate funds and venture capital funds on navigating complex SEC regulatory requirements; developing robust securities compliance strategies and policies; and leading investor negotiations, structuring and fundraising for private equity funds between $800 million and $70 billion in third-party capital commitments. Ebonee’s clients range from the world’s most recognized alternative asset managers to smaller, middle-market first-time sponsors with a variety of investment strategies, including real estate, infrastructure and renewable energy.
Dedicated to uplifting and serving her community, Ebonee maintains an active pro-bono practice partnering with Compass Pro Bono in providing legal consulting services to local D.C. tax-exempt organizations and small, minority and/or LGBTQ+ owned businesses on regulatory compliance, corporate governance and transactional matters. Ebonee is also a member of the Washington Bar Association
Ebonee graduated cum laude from American University Washington College of Law and, prior to law school, was an Operations Area Manager for Amazon.
