Ebonee Johnson is an experienced corporate attorney within the private equity and asset management industry. She specializes in advising registered investment advisers in structuring, forming and fundraising private equity funds with upwards of $70 billion in third-party capital commitments and in navigating complex SEC regulatory requirements. Ebonee represents sponsors of funds in negotiations with ERISA, sovereign wealth funds, private equity, family office and high net-worth individual investors. Ebonee’s clients range from the world’s most recognized alternative asset managers to smaller, middle-market first-time sponsors with a variety of investment strategies, including real estate, infrastructure and renewable energy.
Dedicated to uplifting and serving her community, Ebonee maintains an active pro-bono practice partnering with Compass Pro Bono in providing legal consulting services to local D.C. tax-exempt organizations and small, minority and/or LGBTQ+ owned businesses on regulatory compliance, corporate governance and transactional matters. Ebonee is also a member of the Washington Bar Association.
