Ebony R. Rivon is the Managing Attorney of the Rivon Law Firm, PLLC, which specializes in family law in Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
Ebony received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She graduated Magma Cum Laude and received University Honors and Foundation Honors from the Psychology Department. She received her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
Ebony is an established leader and is very involved in local, state and national bar associations. She served as the Chief of Staff of the National Bar Association, the largest association of African American lawyer, judges and law students. She served as the 2018 – 2019 Chair of the State Bar of Texas African-American Lawyers Section and was a six-year member of the State Bar of Texas Diversity in the Profession Committee. In 2015, Ebony served as President of the J. L. Turner Legal Association and the 2018 Chair of the J. L. Turner Legal Association Foundation in Dallas, Texas.
Ebony believes in serving her community by providing pro-bono legal work and mentoring young ladies and other attorneys. Ebony is the Founder of the Antioch Baptist Church Legal Clinic and Past Chair of the Dallas Bar Association Volunteer Attorney Program Pro-Bono Committee. She is a member of the Dallas Junior League and served as the 2016 project coordinator for St. Philips School & Community Center. Ebony is also a chartering member of the Dallas Women’s Lawyers Association Foundation established in 2017. In 2021, she became a founding board member of the Dallas Eviction Advocacy Center “DEAC,” assisting Dallas County residents from being wrongfully evicted. In 2022, she was elected as the DEAC’s Secretary. In 2024, Ebony became one of the creators of the newest Section of the Dallas Bar Association - Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Section.
Ebony has been recognized for her achievements by her peers in Texas and across the country. In 2022, she started being recognized a Texas Super Lawyer. She has been a D Magazine Best Lawyers since 2019; member of the 2018 inaugural class of the D Magazine Best Lawyers Under 40 Award and recipient for six consecutive years. Ebony has also been recognized and featured by Texas Monthly Magazine as a Top 100 Up-and-Coming Lawyers, Texas Rising Star, and Top 50 Women Attorneys in the past 5 years. In August 2017, she received the National Bar Association’s 40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates Award and the 2017 Excellence in Service Award.
Additionally, the Rivon Law Firm, PLLC has been recognized as one of the Best Firms in Family Law by Best Lawyers Magazine for the past five years.
