Ebony C. Smith concentrates her law practice in labor and employment litigation defense and counseling. Ms. Smith assists businesses to address their most challenging workforce issues including, but not limited to, workplace investigations, single-plaintiff litigation and class/collective action defense in federal and state court. She also helps businesses to understand and implement policies to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws. Ms. Smith has practical experience working with public and privately held companies across the consumer services and tech sector as well as public and private educational institutions.
Prior to joining entering private practice, Ms. Smith served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Lewis M. Nixon of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, and the Honorable Cynthia Y. Cobbs of the Illinois Appellate Court. Ms. Smith received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama and graduated with public interest, service, and leadership honors from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she was a member of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Team.
