Eli is a corporate lawyer in A&O Shearman’s Washington, D.C. office, where he provides strategic counsel to clients on high-stakes private equity deals, complex M&A transactions, and other corporate and securities matters.
Eli has rapidly distinguished himself in the legal arena, playing a pivotal role in landmark sports franchise acquisitions, including the NFL’s Washington Commanders and Denver Broncos. This early exposure to multi-billion dollar deals set the stage for a career advising a diverse clientele, spanning public companies, private equity titans, sports franchise owners, asset managers, and non-profit organizations. His expertise encompasses the entire corporate lifecycle, from initial formation to complex mergers & acquisitions and beyond.
Deeply committed to expanding access to justice, Eli maintains a robust pro bono practice in the Washington, D.C. area. His unwavering commitment to underserved communities earned him recognition on the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll in 2021 and 2022.
Prior to joining A&O Shearman, Eli fortified his legal foundation at the Supreme Court of Virginia, a bulge bracket investment bank, and leading global law firms in New York and Washington, D.C., cultivating a comprehensive understanding of the corporate legal landscape. He holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia (2020) and a B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University (2017).
