Eryn Howington provides regulatory counseling and litigation support to clients involved in complex civil litigation, environmental regulatory enforcement, and mass tort actions.

In her energy and environmental practice, Eryn assists clients with environmental litigation, enforcement defense, regulatory counseling, and navigating the federal rule-making process under the major federal environmental statutes. This includes work related to greenhouse gas regulation, water quality issues, carbon capture legislation, and the Renewable Fuel Standard Program’s Quality Assurance Plan. As the current administration has refocused on environmental justice issues, Eryn has become an active participant in this area, frequently speaking and writing on regulatory developments.

In her torts practice, Eryn defends clients in the transportation, petroleum, and pharmaceutical industries against class actions, contract disputes, environmental tort liabilities, and other commercial matters. She recently completed a one-week trial defending a Class I railroad client that resulted in a favorable jury verdict.

While in law school, Eryn served as a student-fellow in the Howard University Environmental Justice Center and a Henry Ramsey Dean’s Fellow for the legal writing center. She also served as a student-attorney for the Civil & Human Rights Clinic, a research assistant for an environmental law professor, and a tutor to first-year law students.
