Kee’Vona Starr Walker, Esq. is a Cincinnati Native. She has lived in Cincinnati, Ohio her entire life, except for the brief time she spent away in Frankfort, Kentucky where she attended the HBCU, Kentucky State University, and graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She later returned to Cincinnati to attend law school at Northern Kentucky’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law and completed her legal program in May 2018 with her Juris Doctorate. She is currently licensed to practice law in Ohio and the District of Columbia.
Early in Ms. Walker’s legal career, she already possess strong courtroom experience. She has clerked for two judges in the courts of Hamilton County, Ohio. She was also a member of the 2022-2023 Leadership Cohort through the Ohio Women’s Bar Association’s Leadership Institute. The program concluded in April 2023, and she graduated with a job offer from her current employer, who she met through the Leadership Institute.
Kee’Vona is now the Senior Associate Legal Counsel for the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA), where she assists in the Litigation and Insurance Defense Department. She manages and collaborates with a small collections team to settle lawsuits and collect monies owed to COTA. She also oversees Mobility services and responds to complaints involving ADA and Title VI Civil Rights issues.
As a young girl, Kee’Vona always knew that she would be a lawyer after seeing Black women depicted as lawyers through iconic roles like Claire Huxtable from The Cosby Show and Maxine Shaw from Living Single.
Helping others and making a difference in her community has always been extremely important to Kee’Vona and her work as a lawyer. She believes that public service is fundamental to a safe and productive society.
Outside of practicing the law, Kee’Vona enjoys traveling, with Jamaica and Mexico being two of her favorite places to vacation. She is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association and frequently volunteers for events through the Young Lawyer’s Section and Women’s Section. With the law constantly changing, Kee’Vona has also devoted many hours to Continued Learning Education and looks forward to educating and serving generations of lawyers to come
