Kenneth Gilbert began his legal career in 1994 at the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem, a nationally recognized holistic public interest law firm. His work there holds special significance, as it laid the foundation for his deep commitment to serving the Harlem community. Over the course of more than two decades, Kenneth focused on Criminal Law and Family Law, representing clients in a wide range of matters—from serious criminal charges to school suspensions and other administrative hearings. He also led the firm’s walk-in retained intake services, offering legal intervention at critical moments, including pre-arrest consultations and early court appearances.
In 2015, Kenneth founded Kenneth Gilbert Law, located in the heart of Harlem, continuing his mission of delivering accessible, high-quality legal representation to Harlem and the surrounding communities.
A graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, Kenneth has also contributed to legal education, serving as an adjunct professor at Pace Law School in Westchester County, New York, where he taught Federal Criminal Procedure.
Kenneth’s approach to law is rooted in respect, honesty, and transparency. He believes that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and that timely, effective legal counsel can make all the difference.
