Lotoya K. Brown, Esq. currently serves as the Civil Pro Bono Project Coordinator for the Put Something Back Project, connecting prospective clients and pro bono attorneys in various areas of civil law. Client matters include bankruptcy & consumer finance, housing/real property, estate planning (including probate & guardianship), as well other civil issues. Additonally, she provides assistance will planning community-based legal clinics with various legal entities that want to explore pro bono opportunities and services in Miami-Dade. She previously worked at Child Net., Inc. and Andell Brown & Associates, specializing in business transactions, estate planning and healthcare directives. Ms. Brown has also served as Interim Deputy City Attorney of the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
Mrs. Brown earned her Juris Doctor from Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University and her undergraduate degree from Florida State University. She is the immediate past President of the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women's Lawyer Association and received the 2024 Award for Excellence in her organization's promotion of Board Certification presented at the Florida Bar Conference. She is also a Member of the Caribbean Bar Association, Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, Miami-Dade Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar Association, and the Miami Dade County Bar Association. She is a Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the Miami Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Ms. Brown is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
