Sydney Hargrove is a dynamic and accomplished litigator in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice, where she represents clients in high-stakes matters across state and federal courts and government investigations. Prior to Weil, Sydney practiced at another international law firm in Washington, D.C. Her practice spans a broad spectrum of complex litigation, including class actions, securities and financial services disputes, consumer protection and deception claims, antitrust matters, and False Claims Act litigation.

Sydney is known for her strategic litigation acumen and deep experience guiding both corporate and individual clients through all phases of litigation, from initial case development and discovery to trial. Her clients have included major corporations in the technology, healthcare, beauty and cosmetics, financial services, and sports industries, and she has played critical roles in litigation involving cutting-edge legal issues such as invasion of privacy via tracking technologies, Section 230 immunity, and virtual reality market competition.

Notable representations include a federal bench trial on behalf of a global social technology company, defense of a multinational payment platform in a civil RICO action, and nationwide litigation involving a national sports association and CTE-related claims. She also has experience representing clients in sensitive government investigations and regulatory enforcement actions.

Before private practice, Sydney clerked for the Honorable Anna Blackburne-Rigsby, Chief Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, and the Honorable Lynn Leibovitz of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, which deepened her understanding and expertise in the court system and the life cycle of litigation. She also brings to her legal practice a strong foundation in finance from her early career at Morgan Stanley, where she worked in trade support and risk and operations management.

Sydney earned her J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where she served as Articles Editor of the UCLA Law Review. Her work continues to reflect a commitment to excellence, integrity, and impactful advocacy in some of the most challenging legal arenas.
