Victor J. Suane, Jr. is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller, and Chair of the firm’s Diversity Council. He joined the firm in 2007 and practices in the environmental and litigation groups. Vic is a counselor and litigator for local, regional and national clients in a variety of oil and gas, regulatory, lost leasing opportunity, soil and groundwater contamination, wetlands loss, pipeline right-of-way negotiation and expropriation, toxic tort, commercial, environmental, and general litigation matters.
Vic was named the Outstanding Young Lawyer of Louisiana in 2014 by Louisiana State Bar Association, listed as a Rising Star by Louisiana Super Lawyers, is a member of the 2018 Fellows Class of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), and was selected for the National Black Lawyers’ Top 100. Vic is an active member of the National Bar Association’s Commercial Law Section, currently serving on its CLE Committee, and has served on the Federal Bar Association’s Professional Ethics Committee since 2018.
Vic earned his B.A. from Rhodes College in 1998 and earned his J.D., cum laude, from Southern University Law Center in 2007, where he was a member of the Southern University Law Review and American Inns of Court. He is admitted to practice in the state of Louisiana, before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana.
Vic serves the community as a board member of the Louisiana School for the Deaf Foundation and a member of the executive committee for the Greater Baton Rouge Chapter of the Louis A. Martinet Society.
