$8.8M Grant to Help Promote STEM Achievements of Black Students

 A nearly $9-million national grant will help Albion College will research best practices to promote Black student success in science, technology, engineering and math fields.

The private college will participate in the Collaborative Research-Racial Equity project though an $8.8 million grant from the National Science Foundation.

Albion College’s role in the project, which collaborates with several other North American universities, will build on the college’s recent growth in diversity and will focus on community outreach to Black Albion residents, Ashley Woodson, dean of the School for Public Purpose and Professional Advancement, said.
